1 MAISON ANTOINE

More than 70 years of existance, the knowledge of French fries has been passed on from generation to generation. Located on Place Jourdan few mintues walking from our rezidentz studios, it is frequented not only by many Etterbeekers but by connoisseurs.
On the menu, a multitude of sauces such as curry ketchup, pickels, homemade tartare, and a large selection of spicy sauces. We have a little secret to share with you: what’s great is that you can sit down with your cone of French fries in one of the bars of the place. few people know it 🙂

2 PATATAK

Among the latest to join the family of Brussels fritkots. Located on the Parvis de Saint-Gilles and rue de la Bourse, Patatak offers fries made from potatoes from local producers, peeled and cut on the spot. There are two types of fries: potato fries cooked in beef oil or sweet potato fries prepared with vegetable oil for vegetarians.

3 FRITES ATELIER

The high-end address launched by star chef Sergio Herman attracts crowds just a stone’s throw from Saint Catherine Square and our rezidentz appartments. Here, fries are treated like a local treasure and prepared with a Zeeland potato, salted with samphire salt and unusual toppings such as nori seaweed, truffles or even basil and parmesan. A beautiful reinterpretation of the classic French fry, for which there is a long queue.

4 PATATE

Close to the Place du Châtelain, rue de l’Aqueduc, this French fry shop has become a meeting place for the bobos, especially on Wednesday nights, market day. Opened in 2019 by a chef passionate about Belgian culinary heritage, the address defines itself as an artisanal French fry shop. Here, the fresh fries are organic, local, peeled and prepared on site, and above all cooked in the traditional way and the potatoes are delivered every day by a Belgian farmer.

5 FRITLAND

Located near La Bourse, Fritland’s fritkot has been busy since 1978. At Fritland, the potatoes are cooked twice in 100% beef fat, in two different tanks at different temperatures. For the final touch, they are salted and ready to be eaten in a cone, with or without sauce. In addition to the fries, the mitraillette is Fritland’s other specialty.

While writing this article we realized that the best French fry shops in Brussels are located a few steps away from our fully furnished studios, which is normal: they are the top locations in the city !
